Matt Hammond (Ed Devereaux), the father and recently widowed; Mark (Ken James) and Sonny (Garry Pankhurst), the sons; Clancy (Liza Goddard), Sonny's best friend; Jerry King (Tony Bonner), the Flight Ranger and of course Skippy (Phil Judd - provided the tsch, tsch voice). Based in country New South Wales, Australia (this is known from several mentions of the city of Sydney). This was the first production done by Fauna Studios.

Skippy the Bush Kangaroo (known commonly as Skippy) is an Australian television series created by Australian actor John McCallum, produced from 1967–1969 (airing from 1968–1970) about the adventures of a young boy and his highly intelligent pet kangaroo, and the various visitors to the fictional Waratah National Park in Duffys Forest, near Sydney. Ninety-one 30-minute episodes were produced. Additionally, a full-length movie titled Skippy and The Intruders was released to theatres in 1969.
