Personal Motives is an adaptation of the 2005 Spanish series Motivos Personales centers on a high profile news anchor who has the unfortunate experience of seeing her husband arrested for murder live on-air during the evening newscast. Their lives are, of course, torn apart as she works desperately to try to prove his innocence.

She is one of the highest paid television actresses, having signed a $20 million annual contract with the American Broadcasting Company in late 2017.
